Let’s gear up to play the latest games

Gamers have had a lot of excitement in recent years. A lot of new games have come out, but almost all of the latest ones require a really good computer to run smoothly. Since the graphics of a game are the major thing nowadays, you will need a powerful graphics card if you want to play them. However, a good graphics card is not the only piece of hardware that you need to run the latest games.

Central processing unit (CPU)

First of all, let’s talk about the central processing unit or CPU. Most games require a processor which has multiple cores, meaning that, at least, a quad-core processor is needed for the best experience. But if you’re not that into graphics and running these games in the highest possible quality, a dual-core processor will be good enough. For full HD gaming, you need at least a 2.5 GHz processor with 4 or more cores. The best of this type are Intel Core i7 and i9 processors and the newest AMD Ryzen 5 and 7 processors.

There is one more thing that you should think about when choosing a processor and that is its maximum operating temperature. Your CPU will get damaged if it gets too hot, so you may need to buy an additional cooler.

Random-access memory (RAM)

RAM comes in different types and the most popular ones nowadays are DDR3 and DDR4 types, plus DDR5 which is mostly used for graphics cards. For the newest games, 16GB of RAM will be enough, but if you are on a tight budget, you could buy a motherboard which can support 16GB or 32GB of RAM and start with 8GB. You can simply upgrade your RAM when you have enough money for that.

Graphics card

The graphics card is the most important part when it comes to running the newest games smoothly. If you want to run them at their maximum, you will need at least 4GB of RAM and a core clock of 600MHz. One of the best options for gaming is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, but there are other great graphics cards that you can consider buying.

Storage device

Another piece of hardware that you should think about is the storage device. You can choose between the traditional hard disk drive (HDD) and the solid-state drive (SSD). A 500GB HDD is enough, but if you want to invest a little more money, you can choose an SSD which will enable your computer to run faster and more smoothly.

Motherboard

Finally, there is the motherboard, which is the component that syncs everything and makes everything work. What you need is a motherboard that supports the processor that you want to buy and as much RAM as you want. In addition, you should pay attention to the number of USB slots and other built-in components, such as the wireless adapter. Modern motherboards have most of the necessary built-in components and enough USB slots to satisfy your needs.
